What is the fee for processing a photo into a suitable stamp design? The fee for processing a photo into a suitable stamp design is EUR 14.00. You can upload the photo in the order process as a file under "My Motif-Browse." You may also send us the photo in advance via e-mail. We then examined if the photo is also suitable.

Unfortunately, the majority of the first photos our clients submit is rarely suitable. Snapshots from photo archives hardly ever make a good stamp. Simply cutting the head out of an existing photo almost never works because hardly enough pixels are left.

To create a suitable photo stamp, it is recommended to take a photo specifically for the stamp by photographing the subject, ideally the head, and using proper illumination such as a flash. The photo should have as many pixels as possible, and a minimum stamp size of 30 mm is recommended depending on the size of the photo and text to be stamped.

These are the tips provided by the company for a good photo to be used for a stamp:

Select the maximum sensor resolution of your camera (at least 4 megapixels)
Focus the image design only on the object (head)
Select a bright and neutral-colored background
With blond hair, a dark background is better
Select the flash or fill-in flash
Expose it well and avoid shadows as much as possible

Note:

Since the purpose of a photo stamp is to recognize the person in the log book, the photo used for the stamp should clearly show the person's face. Underwater shots may not always provide the necessary clarity to identify a person's face and are therefore generally unsuitable for use as a photo stamp, with few exceptions.
